An Irreplaceable Loss

LAHORE: The world of Islam lost a luminary early on Wednesday as Dr. Israr Ahmed breathed his last in Lahore, Pakistan. He died of a massive cardiac arrest, according to media reports.

A veteran Islamic scholar, Dr. Israr was suffering from back pain and heart disorders for a long time. His funeral prayers will be held on Wednesday in Lahore.

Dr. Israr was the head and founder of Tanzeem-e-Islami. He had a huge following in Pakistan, India and Gulf countries, especially in Saudi Arabia. A medical doctor by profession, Dr. Israr was one of the founding members of the Jamaat-e-Islami.

He was popular for his lectures and TV debates over current Islamic issues and his grasp over Islamic history made him a front-ranking scholar of Islam.

Dr. Israr was a beacon of knowledge and a true spiritual inspiration for millions of Pakistanis. He will be immensely missed and remembered, his unparalleled and magnificent services to Islam will always be cherished and his teachings will live on.

  1. Dr. Israr touched many hearts and influenced thousands of lives. He will always be remembered and talked about.

    He may be permentatly speechless, but his voice will continue to ring loud for years and hopefully for centuries to come until dooms day through his countless audio and video lectures and sermons. He left us a wealth of knowledge and it is our responsibility to convey it to others and live his legacy.

    Dr. Israr, may Allah bless his soul, taught us how to be resolute, dedicated, and committed to the highest cause, the cause of Allah (SWT) and the cause of Islam. Indeed, he was our example.

  4. The Muslim Ummah in general and the Muslims of the subcontinent in particular will forever remain indebted to him for his brave and forthright propagation of true Islam.
    The least we can do is to carry forward his mission in its true spirit.
    May Allah shower His choicest Blessings on him ( Amen )

    Dr. Israr Ahmed a person who showed us that even in today’s world we can live serving Islam and for its true couses. May Allah Hu Subhana have mercy and rahmath on Dr. Israr and on his beloved family. Ameen.
