Dr. Israr Ahmed: A Life Well Spent

April 14, 2010

Aquib Moin | PKKH Editorial Team

Dr. Israr Ahmed was a magnanimous, towering personality in the Muslim World who spent his life in the service of Islam. He was a spiritual intellectual having a true and clear understanding of the meaning of Islam and being a Muslim. For over half a century he lived his life by Quran, he taught Quran, he propagated Quran and preached Quran in most comprehensible way. He made Quranic teachings easy for a common man to understand. He was not only well-versed in Quran and Hadeeth but he also had a very strong grip on various subjects such as philosophy, social sciences and spirituality with true Islamic perspective.

He tirelessly worked to clear the concepts of Muslims of the World in general and Pakistani Muslims in particular on various religious issues and he delivered the knowledge based purely on Quran, Hadeeth, Authentic Islamic literature, and Islamic/World history. He can be regarded as a contemporary scholar as he also had a critical eye on current regional and global affairs. He believed in a non-violent revolution to bring about a positive change and to employ the method of Rasool-Allah (s.a.a.w.s) to establish an Islamic welfare state on the line of Khilafat-e-Rashida.

He was a staunch pro-Pakistani and a strong proponent of Iqbal’s ideology. His dream was to see Pakistan as a prosperous, just and peaceful Islamic state. He spent his entire life in the struggle to make Pakistan what it ought to be and the fulfillment of the promise that we made with Allah. He influenced millions of hearts and he has a very large number of people coming to the straight path to his credit.

Dr. Israr’s struggle, his effort, his mission shall not stop here. His mission to propagate Islam and the teachings of Quran above all ethnic and sectarian differences will go on. His students will march on and his mission to work for the transformation of Pakistan into a true welfare Islamic state and the revival of Islam will go on, Insha’Allah.

  9. asalamu aliakum.Tears are rolling down my cheeks.it seems i cannot bear such a great loss to the islamic community. All his life he strived to make people understand the true meaning of islam so that they could lead their lives according to the simple but pure principles of islam.Today he returned to his lord as we all have to do one day but he made his contribution.I plead to all of you who consider him as your hero….let us make our own contributions…let us follow his footsteps…please please let us keep his mission alive. His mission was the mission of Rasul allah(PBUH)….let us keep our Rasul allah’s (PBUH) mission alive…

    • dr maroosha,

      you made me weep again…

All the children of umm-ul-momineen, who knew him, are sad and suffering on his parting.

i want to share my inkling which is that Allah knew that for a heart that Dr Sahab’s it would too hard to keep witnessing country’s security forces carpet bombing innocent muslims…(surely not all of them)

yes, surely what, dr Sahad “RESTARTED” and led so FAR would surely continute, Inshallah. Contributions of individual children of umm-ul-momineen may vary and Inshallah, be as per the strengths endowed by Allah…but we all have 11 (eleven) “common-mothers” (genetics science is barely 50 year old -but long back we were told that the nasb and sahar (lineages and marital relation surah an-noor 54th Ayat)…is fixed by Allah… so common children with common “gentic-residual/compositions” would have nothing but common goal. And Inshallah we will.

    • respected moderator…in my response to dr maroosha ……please corrected the surah noor and it should be surah furqaan which is 25th surah and 54th ayat

  10. It’s always sad when intellectuals and philosophers pass away. I’ve had the chance to see some of his presentations broadcast in India. May he rest in peace.

  11. Surely we are Allah’s and to Him we shall surely return.

“And those who are careful of (their duty to) their Lord shall be conveyed to the garden in companies; until when they come to it, and its doors shall be opened, and the keepers of it shall say to them: Peace be on you, you shall be happy; therefore enter it to abide, And they shall say: (All) praise is due to Allah, Who has made good to us His promise, and He has made us inherit the land; we may abide in the garden where we please; so goodly is the reward of the workers. And you shall see the angels going round about the throne glorifying the praise of their Lord; and judgment shall be given between them with justice, and it shall be said: All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. ”
The above are the verses from surah Zumar 73-75. The words of the people of Jannah when they enter Jannah and while seating togeather with angels will be “Alhamdulillah” and look the last sermon delivered by Dr. Israr Ahmed was about “Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alameen”. May Allah Tabarak wa taala grand him the high place in Jannat-ul-Firdous (AAMIN).
Bade Ghour se sun raha tha zamana
Hum hi sogayee dastaan kehte kehte.

  12. Inna Lillahe Wa Inna Ilaihe Raja’oon
it’s so hard to believe 😦 😦 :(…May Allah bless his soul and places him in jannat-ul-firdous…
it is one the biggest loss for the ummah…

  13. Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raaji’oon,
Allah unhe Jannat baqshey, bohat hi afsos naak khabar hai yeh, aor be-inteha nuqsaan hua hai unke inteqaal par Muslim Ummah ko, Allah un jaise aor Aalim-e-Deen paida kare..Ameen
All our (India) kindest condolences are for his family and relatives.Allah sabko aise Aalim se rabt rakhne ka sharf de.Ameen.

  15. He was one of the greatest scholars of the 21st century…. Sort of like a mujaddid of our times. His work shall stay with us. We need to take his mission forward. May ALLAH SWT have mercy on his soul, simplify his questioning in the grave, and grant him a high rank in Jannah…. Aameen.

  16. “Inna Lillahe Wa Inna Ilaihe Raja’oon”

He was one of the best orator of all times for the Muslim world. He done his duty to spread true Islam.
    His teachings will remain always.

Great Man With A Great Mission

  17. a true molana ( a unique model )
    well educated in
    deen and dunya

we don’t have many like him anymore in islamic world now

  18. Inna-Lillah-e-Wa-Inna-ilaih-e-RajeooN. May Allah bless his soul with peace and Arfa Muqaam in Jannat-al-Firdaus . Ameen

  19. Dr. Israr’s services to Islam are exemplary. His understanding and analysis of issues had a special resonance with the educated youth in particular.
Above racial , communal and sectarian lines he was a luminary whose writings, works and lectures will have an everlasting impact on all who study it.
May Allah reward him for his consistent efforts and devotion in promoting the true teachings and essence of Islam ( Amen

  20. Innalillahi wa inna ilayhi rajeeoun.
The azan dr. Israr started has not stopped. The mission he was on from his part has been completed. The question remains, who and when will the mission be completed? Alhamdulillah the azan is ongoing. Like PKKH team. We don’t have a second to waste. So much to do, so little time. Tomorrow we will also be dead. Dr. Israr at least has something to show for, what do we have?

Indeed an invaluable loss for the ummah, but especially to the Pak nation, towards whom he put in most of his efforts.

I just wonder how long Allah will tolerate us, until he destroys us and brings forth some other new nation. Unless, ofcourse we choose to become exactly that nation.

  21. it was a big shock for me to hear this news, a big loss for islamic world. may his sole rest in peace.

  22. Inalilah e wa ina ilaihe rajaoon.
Allah is removing all the knowledgable Ullama, and righteous people and leaving us with ignorant and corrupt leaders. This as defined in hadith is a one of the signs of end of times
We should make taubah and ask Allah for forgiveness. May Allah accept us for his deen. Ameen.

May Allah grant Dr Israr jannat ul firdaus.

  23. Hazaro saal nargis apne benoori pe roti har
Bade mushkil sai hota hai chaman mai dedawar paida
He was a greate scholar of islam his way of talking n a critical analysis on quran Impress all muslims….

  24. Surely a huge loss for the Muslim ummah!
May Allah swt bless his soul and grant him place in Janat ul Firdous! Ameen

  25. InaLillahi Wa Ina Elayhay Rajayoon.

I am out of words. I can’t explain the pain which is drilling me since I heard the sorrowful news of Dr. Saab’s death.

Dr. Saab’s mission will never die, InshaAllah. It is yet to be materialized.

Millions of hearts are cyring today.

May Allah bless Dr. Sab’s soul and bless us everyone.

    Your well wisher

  26. inna LiLLahiwainniLAIhirajiuoon ai ALLH unhe magfirat ata farma aor baqshde

  29. it should be: Dr. israr ahmed, a life to look up to.

nothing less than a shock of current times…

with dr sab gone, i dont see anyone upholding his struggle of caliphate in pakistan, nazriya e pakistan, iqbal and islam as a social political economic system.

    except zaid hamid now.

i personally wanted these zaid hamid and dr.israr go hand in hand to bring pakistan its destiny…

its a shock to pakistan…and iqbal said it right once…

hazaron saal nargis apni baynoori pay roti hay…

we already miss him just too much…

    God bless him…

Indeed were all deeply saddened by this tremendous loss !

  31. may Allah Almighty reward him, magnify his deeds and remove his sins. innalillahi wa inalaahi rajioon…

  32. ALL muslims r ahlul bayt.

  33. @Talha

    True to your faith.
But as Mu-Salman said “we all love Ahle Biat-e-Rasool(SAW).No monopoly.

  34. @PKKH,

    Good work.Keep it up.

  35. He was such a remarkable person, his contribution towards Islamic teaching is tremendous. May Allah(swt) grant him higest place in Paradise. Ameen

  36. Inna Lillahe Wa Inna Ilaihe Raja’oon.
Muslim lost a great scholar and real soldier of ALLAH.
We pray that may ALLAH give you the place in JANAT UL FIRDOUS, AMEEN

  37. Shame on our print and electronic media which has given little attention to this great loss for the Ummah.

Leaders of all shade and description have largely remained aloof unlike the nauseating obsession with trivial issues like the Shoaib/Sania nautanki

The Day of Reckoning is surely not very far

    • @ excalibur,
      How right u r, Sir,!
It was indeed Allah Swt’s mashiat, that we lost
      Him, Kullo-nafsin-za’eqatul-maut (Quran).
But a bankrupt, corrupt & traitor media has seldom any taste left. I can only say :

Mayyat pe dehriyon ki, poochio zarah Imam se,
janaza hindi ya angrezi mein parhoge tum inka ?

May Pak media rest in Peace !

  38. inna lillah…….we will return inshallah

    • @David,

Please correct yourself. What Muslims say is:

Surely we are for Allah and surely we will return to Him(Almighty).

  39. He is great loss for Umma. May Allah give him very high place in Jannah.

  40. I agree with excalibur

  41. may Allah bless him,aamen.
jab tak zinda the ,hum ne inki qadar hi nahin ki, ab kaun aaye ga pakistan ko jagane…

ye daur apne Ibrahim ki talash mein hai
sanam-kada hai jahan La ILaha ILLaLLah.

  42. May Allah make his grave the garden of Jannat – It is sad news that a man of wisdom and a scholar has left us who always provided Quranic guidance to the people. He will be greatly missed. InshaAllah he will be rewarded by our Almighty Allah Subhanhutaala who is most kind and merciful. I pray to Allah to provide sabar to his family and all who loved him and his work.

  43. I can’t stop my tears what more i can say from Asif India Kashmir

  44. Inna Lillahe Wa Inna Ilaihe Raja’oon.
Dr israr ahmed was a wellknown perssonality in islamic world he divoted his hol life 4 great coz.muslim umma can not 4get his services.
;may Allah place him in jannah;ameen ya rubbul alameen.

  45. No doubt we lost a great scholar but what next .he made his aakhrat what are we doing

  46. A great loss, a man of character, teacher of millions of youth of the Indian sub-continent. He appealed to the youth, inculcated in them the concept of Khilafah as understood by the pious companions(R.A) of the Prophet(S.A.W). HE HAS LAID A CONCRETE FOUNDATION FOR A PURELY ISLAMIC REVOLUTION BY MEANS OF HIS PREACHING TO THE COMMON MAN. INSHAALLAH IF EVER WE WERE TO ATTAIN THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF KHILAFAH ON THE ENTIRE WORLD DR.ISRAR AHMED(RAHMATULLAHI ALLEH) IS TO BE CREDITED FOR HIS GROUND BREAKING WORK.

  47. Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Elahi Rahjio’on.
Spreading the word of Islam was one of his great accomplishments that i have ever known. It’s sad to say that this world is now devoid of a person who was acting as a Gateway of Islam. May Allah rest his soul in peace and may some person like him be born again for the goodwill of this world.

  48. Donkey (Dan Q) why did you delete my comment? Please give reasons for it. And by the way, I like touching other men bcuz I’m a faggot.

    • How true you are to your family traditions.

  49. dr israar ahmed was really great scholar of islam and will remain for ever
he was like a candle in this era of darkness
may Alah bless his soul and give us a patience to bear this greif and lost of that great scholer of islam

  50. islam has lost a big scholar this lost is irrepairable for the whole world may allah grant him peace in the heaven inshaallah
