US Shifted TTP Leaders To Afghanistan

November 22, 2009

LAHORE: General (retd) Mirza Aslam Beg has alleged that the US has shifted Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Hakimullah Mehsud and the other Taliban leadership to Afghanistan.

In an interview, Aslam Beg said when the Pakistan Army started the operation in South Waziristan, a helicopter flew from the Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan and shifted Hakimullah Mehsud and other militants to Afghanistan.

He said Hakimullah Mehsud and other militant commanders were present in Afghanistan. He alleged that the US was backing the militants fighting against the Pakistan Army in South Waziristan Agency.

He said that the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) of India wanted to detach the tribal areas from Pakistan but it did not succeed in its designs. About the current wave of terrorism in the country, especially in Peshawar, he said these incidents could be a reaction to the Waziristan operation but possibilities of the US and other foreign actors’ involvement could not be ruled out.

Responding to a question about the operation Rah-e-Nijat, he said the people were talking about the difficulties in the operation and the possibility that the Army could be trapped in the area but due to an effective strategy, the military succeeded in clearing the area of the militants within a month and the remaining task would be completed soon.

About the US efforts in Afghanistan, he said the US could neither succeed in Afghanistan nor could get a safe exit from the Afghan soil until it corrected its attitude with the Pakistan Army. Aslam Beg said only the Pakistan Army and the Taliban could give a safe exit to the US from Afghanistan. About the military action in Balochistan, he said there was no need for a military operation in the province.

TTP leaders evacuated by mysterious airlifts – Akhtar Jamal

Islamabad—Mysterious airlifting of some Taliban elements from areas of Pakistan-Afghanistan border linking Waziristan have been reported by several sources and fears are growing that anti-Pakistan TTP terrorists are also being rescued by their “foreign allies” from across the border.

The unexplained movements of “un-marked” helicopters and aircraft have been reported since last few days along Pak-Afghan border and one source claimed that they were being transported to the Eastern Afghanistan.

Some experts believe that secret allies of friendly-Talibans took the action in order to secure the militants from an assault in South Waziristan by Pakistani Armed Forces while others believe the secret evacuation was part of a larger deal between some Western States and “good Taliban.”

The airlifting and evacuation of TTP leaders from South Waziristan coincided with a report by foreign news media or a similar mysterious evacuation of “militants” from South Afghanistan to North Afghanistan.

An Iranian news site on October 18 reported that “British Army has been relocating Taliban insurgents from southern Afghanistan to the north by providing transportation means.” Quoting diplomats who spoke on condition of anonymity, the Iranian site claimed that insurgents are being airlifted from the southern province of Helmand to the north amid increasing violence in the northern parts of the country.

The PressTV.com also claimed that “the aircraft used for the transfer have been identified as British Chinook helicopters.”

The report suggested that the secret operation was being launched under the supervision of Afghan Interior Minister Mohammad Hanif Atmar, who “was still operating under the British guidance.”

Last week Afghanistan’s Pajhwok news agency reported that “US ambassador scotched speculation that his country was helping terrorists in the north, saying America had nothing to do with the air-dropping of armed men from helicopters in Samangan, Baghlan and Kunduz provinces.” At an October 11 news conference in Kabul, President Hamid Karzai had himself claimed that “some unidentified helicopters dropped armed men in the northern provinces at night.”

According to Pajhowk news report President Karzai revealed “the government had been receiving evidence of the air-dropping of gunmen from mysterious helicopters in the provinces over the last five months.”

A comprehensive investigation is underway to determine which country the helicopters belong to; why armed men are being infiltrated into the region; and whether increasing insecurity in the north is linked to it.

  1. is the interview uploaded anywhere ?

  2. under the guard of PAF? if it has happened then does it mean PAF is sleeping or else why did they not intercept the intruding helicopter?

    • That’s a noteworthy question :\

    • airlift was done in afghanistani border, PAF did not cross the international border.
all the militants had to do is just cross the international border where they cud be air lifted

  3. why not our army is able to threatned the us and nato forces with stong voice.what is the problem are they scared or what.if today we anounce the neutrality in WOT so many our problems will resolved it will be clear then who is our real enemy.its enough anow rmy will lose public sympathy if drones attacks will continue like this.

  4. Is this news is cnfrmd by any pak army or reliable source, how would u assure this news is geniune.

  5. Mr Yogi I have seen what u r referring in this blog and other blogs. You want to say that Mumbai Attacks were carried out by Pakistan. Then who did burn the Train and who did slaughter the Muslims. Why Mr. Kurkre was instantly killed. Who did provide him substandard bullet proof Jacket. You r crying over one Mombai attack and Pakistan is facing every day such events sponsered by RAW. Behave youself.

    • Using terrorists in another country is an act of war.
Pakistan did it on India, now it is Pakistan’s turn to have it.

Let us see, who wins this covert war.

      • @neel

just shut ur crap now! Why did ur country start interfering in east Pakistan thn?? When Pak did with Kashmir later on u wussy keep crying!

  6. Very reliable sources say that PAF took photos of such shifting and the proof was provided to the CIA chief who visited Pakistan, the other day.

Pak Army is correctly following a policy of “no confrontation”,but at the same time remain alert.

  7. the reason why our armed forces can not retaliate US and NATO forces is just because they have clear orders from our so called DEMOCRATIC and WEST CONTROLLED GOVERNMENT to stay put …. and since PAK ARMY has already being so much criticized and bashed about being ROGUE therefore they are not doing any thing against these WEST and PAKISTANI government joint venture … its not far when people will start supporting PAK ARMY again to through these shitty politicians away from throne ….

    • Agreed!!

  8. ARE THERE ANY JOURNALIST STILL OUT THERE WHO CAN GIVE US REAL FACTS ANYMORE? IT SEEMS ALL YOU PEOPLE WRITE ABOUT IS WHAT “YOU THINK” IS GOING ON IN PAK,AND AFHG. WE DON’T CARE ABOUT WHAT YOU THINK WE WANT PROOF, REAL REPORTING, NOT SITTING IN YOUR LITTLE SAFE PLACE “ON YOUR TAIL” MAKING THINGS UP TO TURN PEOPLE AGAINST MY COUNTRY. WE HAVE STUPID MEDIA HERE THAT DOES IT TOO. WHAT HAPPENED TO GOOD REPORTING.

    • @jen
Proof of RAW/CIA/Mossad supporting militants in Pak has been shown to the head of CIA during his visit!

The article is written by Pakistani living in Pakistan unlike Americans who think they know each and everything about Pakistan and it’s people by sitting in NY!

      • IM
To be honest .. I have big dobut over the army’s opreation .. first of all no independent agency/media is allowed to cover this opreation in SWA .. whatever army is saying .. media is saying.. when the opreation is beginning .. army said there are about 10,000 militants and after 1 month when army is saying opreation is success it says 500 militants killed.. hence it killed only 95% where are rest … It highly imposible all left in the refuge of afganistan what you feel ?

      • @M.J Akbar

The same stuff was being said about the operation in swat, we have seen the militants being wiped out and people living with much peace now in the swat valley! We saw celebrations on 14th Aug in swat! Major terrorist commanders have also been captured!

I dunno much as to where the militants went from S.WA but when Pak army is capturing major areas in the place that is a sign of success!

  9. paksitan could say “we would seek and destroy terrorists wherever they run”…they can use the same excuse US gave when it came to afghanistan…bikaaooo …they cant tell their fathers this can they?
