The Revolution within Ourselves

Talha Mujaddidi

‘Few individuals significantly alter the course of history. Fewer still modify the map of the world. Hardly anyone can be credited with creating a nation state. Mohammad Ali Jinnah did all three.’ – Stanley Wolpert on Jinnah

“Mohammad Ali Jinnah, his Muslim Tiger wants to eat the Hindu Cow” – Time Magazine

Such was the stature of the man who created Pakistan. Jinnah was resolute, extremely focused, meticulously disciplined, and possessed Shakespearean tongue. He was a man of vision and political far-sightedness. Then something disastrous happened, after the tragic demise of our only Quaid (Jinnah) , Liaquat Ali Khan was assassinated, last words from his mouth were, “May Allah protect Pakistan”. Since Liaquat Ali’s assassination this country has been run by corrupt, incompetent, and colonial slave rulers.

Who is to be blamed for our downfall? The blood sucking politicians, the sheepish generals, the dead like door knob religious leaders, the power hungry bureaucracy, and the corrupt businessmen. But this is only the tail of the coin. We should look at the flip side of the coin and we will see our own faces there. Yes my friends, we all are also responsible for the downfall of our nation. Do we remember what Jinnah said to us, the citizen of this country? Jinnah stressed on hard work, dedication, unity in ranks, faith in Pakistan and top notch discipline. Did we follow that? No we didn’t.

How many times have we violated a traffic law and argued with a policeman? How many times have we thrown litter in our own streets? How many times have we prayed for US green card or Canadian citizenship? How many times do we talk behind our own brothers and sisters? How many times do we make fun of our teachers and professors? How many times have we stooped to ethnic, religious, linguistic, and cultural fragmentations?

This, my fellow citizens are not the traits of Jinnah’s nation. We need to transform ourselves and become the nation that Jinnah wanted.

This independence day we should look ourselves in the mirror and ask ourselves have we become the leader that Jinnah wanted? We all have to be a leader of our own lives; we need to break free from Yankee-slavery, and their self inflicted inferiority complexes. Until we don’t change ourselves, God will not change our situation. It’s time we must realize what is going around us in our motherland, we can’t just live through the motions in this lifetime anymore, we must be the agent of the change, not the catalyst.

Pakistani people!!! It’s time we start acting as proud Pakistanis, and rise from the ashes of our laziness. Our motherland is crying for our sins and negligence, Jinnah had a dream to make Pakistan one of the most successful countries in the world. It’s time to make that dream a reality, each one of us needs to be a leader in our daily lives. Study with passion, gain as much knowledge of Islamic and Pakistan history as possible, take care of your family, friends, neighbors, don’t think about money, and think about the priceless beauty of a smile that you can bring on another Pakistani’s face.  Stop watching three hour long Indian movies, first of all they suck, secondly, they are not worth it, you are better off doing social work for three hours, or reading a quality book or best of all reading the Quran. If we become a good leader of our own lives God will remove this cancerous leadership from our nation and grant us pious, focused, honest and brave leadership. It’s time to rise, it’s time to revolutionize ourselves, and break the chains of prejudice, hatred, and Yankee slavery.

This is the most interesting time of history, history is in the making, be part of history, history doesn’t remember your bank accounts or your palaces, history remembers you only if you made a positive change for the benefit of mankind. It’s time to be the change now, don’t wait, free your mind now, for what we do in this life echoes in eternity.

Azadi Mubarak

Pakistan Zindabad!!!!

  1. Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad. Lets promise ourselves to make this beautiful homeland of ours Iqbal ka Pakistan aur Quaid ka Pakistan Insha’Allah

    Pakistan Zindabad

  2. Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad.
Rise pakistan. and Rise every one.

Don;t just celebrate a day, celebrate a whole new time.

  3. proud to be paki.

  4. If we only follow the three words of wisdom that the great Quaid-e-azam told us “unity, faith and discipline” we can achieve wonders!

May Allah swt give us the strength to stand up and take our nation towards glory! Ameen

  5. Pity the nation that raises not its voice
save when it walks in a funeral,
boasts not except among its ruins,
and will rebel not save when its neck is laid
between the sword and the block.

Pity the nation whose statesman is a fox,
    whose philosopher is a juggler,
and whose art is the art of patching and mimicking.
Pity the nation that welcomes its new ruler with trumpeting,
    and farewells him with hooting,
only to welcome another with trumpeting again.

Pity the nation whose sages are dumb with years
and whose strong men are yet in the cradle.
Pity the nation divided into fragments,
each fragment deeming itself a nation.

    ….. Khalil Gibran

    Time for Reflection
    Happy Independence Day !

  6. Excellently written! I hope all Pakistanis take advice from this article

  7. The difficult part was to establish Pakistan that has been achieved. So many people look for independence in the name of religion, race or culture yet rarely do they accomplish their task!.For example many Sikh’s have been fighting for independence but their dream is no closer to becoming a reality…

Pakistan achieved the impossible but we’ve still got much to conquer and do before Jinnah’s dream is manifested into reality!.

  8. Allah be praised! Allah’s peace, blessings and salutations on His Beloved Muhammad, Last Messenger and Last Prophet and Seal of all Prophets. Let us on this day remember the sacrifices of all those for Pakistan free from the shackles of British Colonialism and Hindu domination – the land of our dreams and expectations where Muslims would freely follow their religion Islam and adopt their own civilization and culture and make it a progressive welfare State.

just wanna say a true msg for all of us if we do it INSHALLAH we will achieve QUAID’s PAKISTAN….

  10. This was so true and so touching: “If we become a good leader of our own lives God will remove this cancerous leadership from our nation and grant us pious, focused, honest and brave leadership. It’s time to rise, it’s time to revolutionize ourselves..” It echoes the Prophetic wisdom, “As you are, so shall your leaders be.”

May Allah grant us His grace, so that we may once again realize how Bountiful is our Lord, how great is our purpose, how grand is our destiny, and how short is the time we have to redeem ourselves!

  11. Pakistan ka matlab kya?
    La Ilaha illallah!

    Pakistan ka maqsad kya?
    Muhammadur Rasoolullah!

  12. Salam you All. Azadi Mubarik.
You all know that what is the meaning of Pakistan,
Pakistan meaning is LA ILAHA IL LAL LAH
Means, God is one, Message from God to the Mushriq, Kafars (It is my view about Pakistan)
The Flag of our country Pakistan is the sign of God (the God is one) so, I think The Pakistan is the part of the earth which God has selected to show once again his Jah ho Jalal to the SHYTAN and Shytans followers….(It is my opinion / thinking)….

So, lets come being a Pakistani, Pray May Allah Accept us to work for Allah, come and try to make our hearts Clean and pure and Full of Emaan and Noor of God, that May Allah Accept us as Allah accepts our grate leader Like Alama Iqbal, Qauid-e-Azam,

    Why not we…….?

We can, because we are human and our greatest leaders are also Human and Our Nabi Muhammad (PBUH)…

Lets come to achieve the conditions which leads us towards the Pakistani (The Solder of God)…..
