Senators for in-camera briefing on submarines

August 1, 2009

Opposition on Thursday strongly protested in the Upper House of the Parliament against the prorogation of the Senate session well before its schedule and accused the government of striking an “under the table” deal with France to get old submarine technology.

Tariq Azeem of Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) said the government was getting old submarine technology from France while the country had already that technology. Jamal Laghari also strongly condemned the deal of Pakistan with France to get submarine technology at high cost. This deal is being conducted secretly with France to get old technology of submarine, he accused.

He said that Germany had offered latest and modern Submarine technology at low cost. He demanded that the Navel Chief should brief the House in camera about the deal.

Coup in Pakistan ‘fat tail’ event of 2009

May 2, 2009

“The Pakistan Army did not want to intervene in politics, but there could be a coup if the civilian government did not improve its performance”, Prince Turki al-Faisal, the former Saudi intelligence chief, said on Monday.

Additionally, in a special report on the world’s top 10 “fat tails” – relatively low-likelihood but potentially high-impact events – Eurasia Group identified the chance of a military takeover in Pakistan as the most potentially-significant unexpected development that might transform global geopolitics.

Traitors in our midst..

February 3, 2009

With friends like these, who needs enemies?

If Pakistan Government requesting China not to veto the UN resolution banning Jama’at-ud-Dawa wasn’t an eye opener for some, the latest shenanigans should put to rest any doubts on where the loyalties of those in charge in Islamabad lie.

As reported in DAWN, the Foreign Office recently scuttled a move for adoption of a resolution in the National Assembly asking US President Barack Obama to appoint an envoy on Kashmir or include the settlement of the dispute in the mandate of the US envoy on Afghanistan and Pakistan.

A top official of the Foreign Office blocked the move by setting aside a joint resolution approved by members from both the sides of the aisle, and came out with another version, excluding the call for sending a US envoy on Kashmir.

The move by Marvi Memon of the PML-Q was supported not only by her party’s leadership, but also by the PPP, PML-N, ANP, JUI-F, PPP-Sherpao and Fata MNAs. [Full Story]

Greater-India Calendar Circulated Among Parliamentarians
With traitors within our own government, Indians and RAW had the audacity to distribute greater India calendar in our own parliament. This government is the biggest security threat Pakistan faces today and all enemies thrive under their umbrella. First we had billboards on the roadsides depicting greater Afghanistan and now we have greater India calendars in the parliament. It is time we work on greater Pakistan and small India options, INSHALLAH. [Link to the story in DAWN]

Those who do not learn from history…

December 1, 2008

…are doomed to repeat it!

parliament-attack1_26India has a history of blaming Pakistan for its failings. Watch these videos, where Aaj TV’s Talat and ARY’s Kashif Abbasi have a look at the way Indian media had reported the Malegaon & Samjhota express blasts, the history of terrorism in India and the truth behind it. ‘Evidence pointing to Pakistan, Finger on the button of terror, Lashkar-e-Tayba has struck again’ is the recurring theme. The coverage is eerily similar to what we’re watching this time around on Indian channels.

Live with Talat – Aaj TV November 30th, 2008
Off The Record – Kamran Abbasi, ARY OneWorld November 30th 2008
