Karachi’s New ‘Able’ Administrator

April 14, 2010

In present time when more and more righteous people like Dr. Israr Ahmed are departing this Earth, the worst and most corrupt people under the Sun are being given the privileges of power and authority. These unworthy people are naturally making the most of these opportunities to fill their pockets, fulfill their interests by employing all means even if the nation would severely suffer as a consequence.

Part of the problem lies within us as a nation as well. We have now “learned” to suffer. We don’t stand up, we never ask the rulers, we never hold them accountable for what they are doing. We must question the ruling elite on their suspicious, unjustified and unfair actions. We must speak up against decisions and actions which are exploitative and damaging for the people.

Is this the kind of Administrator people deserve? Does he even know what his responsibilities and obligations are? Does he even bear the load of being a civil servant? Is this kind of a person really deserve to be on such a position?

The ruling elite must mend their ways before a time comes when they would be thrown out on the streets by the people!

Did Hardline Comrades Give Baradar Up?

February 17, 2010

Baradar’s capture signifies a split within the Afghan Taliban, as he headed the minority faction more open to negotiations with the Afghan government and the US. His secret negotiations in Dubai may have angered hardliners including Mullah Omar, who have rejected the offers of negotiations and reconciliation with the Karzai government, and representatives of the US and NATO.

Can Mr. Zardari survive the challenge?

December 28, 2009

Saleem Shehzad
Asia Times

The PPPP government has been given a deadline of December to clip the wings of the president and some of his ministers. What will happen if Mr. Zardari doesn’t accept the dedline and continues to fight the establishment, the parliament, the Supreme Court and Civil Society in Pakistan? That is the $1 million question. For now Mr. Gilani and Mr. Zardari seem to have come out swinging.

President Asif Ali Zardari has decided to go for direct public contact in order to restore his damaged image resulting from resurrection of corruption allegations against him after the demise of the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).

Europeans Arrested With Weapons

October 7, 2009

ISLAMABAD—Officials of a security agency on Tuesday detained two diplomats working at the Embassy of Netherlands in a sensitive area of metropolis and recovered arms, ammunition as well as explosives from their possession.

The diplomats were later released on the intervention of top diplomatic officials from embassy of their country and that of US embassy. Sources in the Police Station Secretariat informed that officials of a security agency intercepted a Dark Blue BMW at 11.30 am roaming suspiciously between Marriott Hotel and Pakistan Secretariat.

On search, the officials of the agency recovered two handguns, four magazines, two smoke grenades, two flash bombs, six bullet proof jackets and some other material from the car and detained two diplomats Mr. Smith and Mr. William. Meanwhile, the police rushed to the spot where the diplomats arrested with contraband failed to provide any licence or documents. “They were unable to provide any justification for being armed and keeping bombs,” the sources informed. Police was planning to take the Netherlanders to police station when the top diplomatic officials from US and Netherlands intervened. [Daily Mail]

This comes just two days after a Greek national was arrested at Karachi airport attempting to smuggle a handgun onboard an Emirates Airlines flight to Dubai, hidden in his laptop.

Ambassador Patterson MUST Be EXPELLED

October 3, 2009

patterson2__pakistan_140The United States really will never stop whining. It is time to crush the US war-hysteria for the last time in Pakistan. Pakistan should go on the offensive and we should deliver selective strikes inside Afghanistan destroying drones and whatever equipment is to be used against Pakistan.

KARACHI, Pakistan—After the controlled media leaks about US concerns of a Taliban ‘safe-haven’ in Quetta, the US Ambassador in Pakistan has come out and spoken to the media about it. Instead of denying reports that the US might attack the provincial capital of Balochistan, she says the US will have to do what it has to do to take out terrorists.

Violence in Karachi

April 30, 2009

Anayat Khan, a fruit seller at Bacha Khan chowk in Karachi’s Benaras area, says a ‘political game’ is under way. ‘There are no Taliban here,’ he says. ‘We listen to music, we have functions, our women go shopping. The only people we have to fear are the workers of a certain political party.’

India feasts on volatile situation in Balochistan

April 25, 2009

Khalid Khokhar

While the US media has frequently reported on alleged Pakistani ties to Jehadi elements launching attacks in Afghanistan, it has less often mentioned that India supports insurgent forces attacking Pakistan. RAND scholar Christine Fair, a leading American expert on South Asia disclosed in a discussion carried by ‘American journal Foreign Affairs’ that Pakistan has legitimate concerns about India’s involvement in fanning unrest in Balochistan. She further contended that “Having visited the Indian mission in Zahedan, Iran, I can assure you they are not issuing visas as the main activity. Moreover, India has run operations from its mission in Mazar (through which it supported the Northern Alliance) and is likely doing so from the other consulates it has reopened in Jalalabad and Kandahar along the border”.

Pakistan is facing turmoil in Balochistan because of the Indian meddling in Pakistan’s affairs leading to the dismemberment of Pakistan. There is a credible evidence about the complicity of few angry tribal chieftains with India and Afghanistan in fomenting trouble in Balochistan. The statement of Brahamdagh Bugti, grandson of late Akbar Bugti, was very alarming when he revealed that he would accept any “moral help and material support” from India to defend Balochistan from Islamabad’s designs of capturing the riches of Balochistan. There is strong evidence of Indian support in planning, commissioning and preparing acts of terrorism in Balochistan through setting up of 26 centres of terrorism (consulates) along the western border in Afghanistan. Reliable sources have revealed that explosives were brought in by Indian Border Roads Organisation (BRO) under the garb of “reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts” in Afghanistan through Iran to be used for sabotage acts against Balochistan.

Finding Clarity in the Baluchistan Conundrum

April 23, 2009

Talha Mujaddidi

The problem for US is that BLA alone is not able to break away Baluchistan from Pakistan. Of the 5% population of Baluchistan they don’t even have support of 10% Balochi population. The Pakistan Army and ISI are resisting the assault in national and strategic interests of Pakistan. The Great Game of Brzezinski will surely continue in Baluchistan and rest of Pakistan, the people of Pakistan are ready to counter this great game now we need leadership and some courage. It will take some time to achieve courage and leadership but it will come eventually. Street revolutions are easy to carry out the hard part is the mental revolution. That is what is required right now to challenge the US global hegemony.

As in all of his analyses of the battle for Pakistan, Talha Mujaddidi provides a rare look into the internal struggle of the Pakistan people and the interference in their domestic affairs by the United States, India and other foreign elements. Read Full Article

What You should know about RAW

March 9, 2009

Satish Chandra

Over the past many years, I have shown how almost all terrorist incidents in India since 1983 have been carried out by outfits controlled by the CIA either directly or through intelligence agencies in the region, including India’s RAW. The Jain Commision of Inquiry, which went into Rajiv Gandhi’s death, acknowledged that the LTTE, which carried out his assassination, was created and controlled by RAW. It was an open secret that MQM, in Pakistan’s Sindh province, when it was known as a terrorist organization, was a creation of RAW. But the same is true of many terrorist outfits that operate in India. Another example of RAW’s multifarious activities, that I have described in press releases, articles and letters to the press since 1987, is its spreading heroin addiction and AIDS first in India’s Northeast then elsewhere to provide the United States with a population to use as guinea pigs for AIDS vaccine development, after the CIA was assigned the task of roping in a population for this purpose.

CNS demolishes Malik’s case on Kasab

February 28, 2009

ISLAMABAD: The chief of naval staff (CNS) on Friday demolished the case and contention of the adviser on interior to the prime minister conceding that the main accused and his accomplices of the Mumbai incidents of November 26 last year belonged to Pakistan and they travelled from Karachi.

The CNS, Admiral Noman Bashir said on that no evidence has been provided that Ajmal Kasab had gone to Mumbai from Pakistan while Adviser on Interior Rehman Malik confessed last month that Ajmal Kasab and his nine accomplices travelled from Karachi to undertake the attacks in Mumbai. Interestingly, his statement was a confirmation of the position that India had taken about the case and Indians jubilantly termed it their great diplomatic achievement.
