LAHORE: In a stunning revelation, US private security service agency, Blackwater’s founder, Erik Prince, has claimed that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had asked the agency to kill Pakistani nuclear scientist, A Q Khan.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Prince said the CIA had asked the Blackwater to eliminate Khan, however, authorities in Washington “chose not to pull the trigger.”
“Dr Khan’s inclusion in the target list would suggest that the assassination effort was broader than has previously been acknowledged,” Prince said.
Prince has also admitted to Blackwater’s participation in some of the CIA’s most sensitive operations, including raids on suspected militants in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Prince said Blackwater’s, which now known as Xe Worldwide Services, role changed remarkably after its officials started providing security cover to CIA operatives in the field.
Raids on suspected insurgents in Iraq, known as “snatch and grab” operations, were mostly carried out during nights between 2004 and 2006.
Is Rehman Malik Ready to Resign? Malik had said earlier that he will resign is Xe presence in Pakistan proved. CIA spokesman confirmed Xe (Blackwater) presence in Pakistan.
Despite repeated denials, the CIA has now confirmed that US security contractor Xe Services, formerly known as Blackwater, has been operating in Pakistan. CIA spokesman George Little said that agency Director Leon Panetta has terminated a contract with Xe services that allowed the company’s employees to load bombs on CIA drones at secret airfields in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

A young Pakistani Assistant Superintendent of Police [ASP] chased a fleeing US embassy car for two kilometers after it sped through a police checkpoint on the outskirts of the Pakistani capital on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009.
When the diplomats refused to stop, the ASP drove past them and then sharply turned his car to force the US embassy vehicle to screech to a halt. He and his senior police officers insisted the US diplomats return to the police picket, apologize to the Pakistani police officers and submit to a security inspection of the inside of the car like all cars passing through the checkpoint, according to the exclusive report published by Lahore’s The Nation newspaper.

Not many modern armed forces unite in their inventory, and particularly among their key assets, technology from two – in political terms – entirely opposite origins. It is more common in the countries of the former Soviet bloc where, since the fall of the iron curtain, Western technology slowly but ever increasingly found its way into countries primarily equipped with Russian weapon systems. In the past two decades the Middle East and southern countries of the Asian continent have become areas in which Western state-of-the-art weapon systems competed next to weapon systems from Russia or other former antagonists to lead these countries’ armed forces into a new age – globalisation in the political and industrial defence world.
These countries – not only geographically in between history’s current major players – slowly revolve the old political and economic structures in a natural process and, with their growing political self-confidence, create a new link between the cumbersome super powers which, mostly from behind the scenes, will shape the next decades.
HYDERABAD: The health of fasting TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao is deteriorating and he urgently needs oral feed, a medical bulletin said on Wednesday, PTI reported.
55-year-old Rao, whose indefinite fast for creation of a separate Telengana state entered the 11th day, is “refusing intravenous antibiotics, saline, glucose and any other supporting therapy,” doctors at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) here said.
“He is not cooperating and has refused to undergo a blood test. He is weak but conscious and is talking. He should resume oral feed as his health condition is deteriorating,” they said in the bulletin.
Today is the day we look you in the eye and say “enough!” As we bury our Shaheeds, our eyes are heavy from the tears that we have shed and our shoulders heave with the grief that we have carried upon them. But before you even begin to delude yourselves with the idea that you have defeated this nation, take a very close look at the hands that have carried the martyrs to their graves, look closely and you will notice that these hands do not shake, that the feet that walk our loved ones to their resting places do not falter. Look at our eyes, and behind the tears and the grief you will see the rage, you will see the storm that is brewing on the horizon and the lightning that will strike you dead. We know you are afraid as you should be, afraid of a people that do not know the meaning of defeat; a people who only know how to sacrifice their all for the love of RasulAllah (PBUH), for this Ummah and for Pak Sarzameen. For every single one of us you kill, a thousand more shall rise. As you attack us from behind, we hit you from the front; we hit you where it hurts. We are hunting you down, one by one, and you have nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. We want you to know that you will not break us. InshAllah. No matter how many of us you kill, Pak Sarzameen will always be protected by her sons and daughters, one hundred and seventy five million of us.

“Pakistan is our motherland. It is the bastion of Islam. We live and die for the glory of Islam and Pakistan. Our faith, resolve and pride in our religion and in our country is an asset, which is further reinforced after each terrorist incident,” he said while talking to the relatives of the victims of the Parade Lane mosque attack.

Islamabad—A beaming Lt Gen (Retd) Hamid Gul proudly sitting in his drawing room with a well decorated artifact of a small piece of Berlin Wall, was well prepared to give an interview Pakistan Observer on Indian Chief of Army Staff General Deepak Kapoor’s latest statement ,”Pakistan a state in decline”, He (Hamid Gul) after reading the statement smiled.
Not very quick to respond instantly and maintaining military graces by not using any word which could have caused any disrespect to a fellow general India spoke philosophically. His arguments were well packed with historic precedents.
Q) Gen Hamid Gul are we really a decling or failing state .And what he means by small theatre nuclear war I mean limited nuclear war with Pakistan?
A) Nuclear threat is an empty boast. India’s newly discovered friend in United States will never approve such an adventure. Please read what President Obama told Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has lost 265 MiG fighter jets in crashes during the last two decades leaving 140 people dead, Defence Minister A.K. Antony said Wednesday. “In the last two decades (since April 1989 and up to Nov 26, 2009), 265 MiG fighter aircraft of the IAF have crashed. A total of 96 service personnel and 44 civilians were killed in these cases,” Antony told the parliament in a written reply.
Dubbed “flying coffins” for their frequent crashes, only 150-160 of the over 450 single-engine MiG-21s with the IAF are still in service. A large number have been lost in accidents during peace time. Antony said that all precautions are being taken before flying the aircrafts. “Each aircraft accident in the IAF is investigated through a court of inquiry and remedial measures are undertaken accordingly to check their recurrence in future.

JAGDALPUR: All over the countryside in central India, red monuments topped with hammer and sickle symbols announce that this is Maoist land. And these days, nobody could forget it.
A string of recent attacks by communist rebels points to the comeback of an extreme leftist movement inspired by Chinese communist leader Mao Zedong and long seen as outdated. In response, the Indian government has announced plans to deploy more than 70,000 paramilitary and police forces in a spring offensive that activists criticize as too little, too late.
The communists are tapping into a deep dissatisfaction over the widening gap between rich and poor, particularly in the rural areas where most people live. As breakneck development pushes parts of India far ahead of others, the richest states now have incomes five times higher than the poorest states, according to the World Bank.
Today is the day I lost you
amid the blood and tears, your angelic face
your beautiful form wreathed in the scent of a martyr
I didn’t know you but I will always love you
for you are the glory of this land that I hold dear.
People all around us ask a thousand questions
But you sleep the most peaceful, blessed sleep
Your soul shines through the white layers of your shroud
and angels descend from the heavens to witness a love so deep

Eight years in Afghanistan after 9/11, massive failures, destruction of whatever little infrastructure there was, death of countless innocents, soaring high opium trade, terrorized public, a second place in the list of world’s most corrupt nations constitute just a bunch of unsought presents by America’s botched Afghan Policy for this poor nation.
But that’s not it. This war has also given a lot to the American people, in shape of a cataclysmic economy, towering unemployment rates, incalculable soldiers killed, women left widowed, children left orphaned, war cemeteries filled with youthful graves, etc. Exactly, just a bunch of unsought presents for this ‘once-rich’ nation. ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—In a detailed letter written to Hamid Mir of Geo News, the alleged mastermind of the Mumbai attacks, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, sympathized with the families of all those who lost their lives in the Mumbai attacks last year and said that Islam does not condone random blasts at public places, nor does it endorses the killing of innocent non-Muslims.
Hafiz Muhammad Saeed is not happy with some Pakistani intellectuals and journalists who are “propagating” against him and expected that the Pakistani media would support him.
