The wait is finally over! Here’s the second episode of PKKH’s own production in association with AhmedQuraishi.com, Loud & Clear from Islamabad – Pakistan’s first and only web-tv show.
In this episode our guest is PML-Q’s Mushahid Hussain Syed – a rare politician with who is not just in tune with the problems that Pakistan faces (having the distinction of being from a middle-class background), but is also quite strong and outspoken in his criticism of not just Asif Zardari’s corrupt government, but also the western-style democratic set-up in place Pakistan.
In this fascinating conversation, Ahmed Quraishi and Mushahid Hussain lift the lid on the sensational and often dangerous levels of incompetence of the current government, the American and Indian designs of using Afghan soil to destabilize Pakistan and the strength and resilience of the Pakistani people who are by now used to staring misfortune in the eye and making their own way through the storms we’ve faced in our 60-odd years. I believe this foreign hand theory is non sense.
The malaises in Pakistan include the Talibanization of the mainstream; the profusion of extreme viewpoints, anti India and anti American sentiment, and control of power by a small feudal elite.
These lacuna have been blamed by the dictators on India, America, and a host of other factors, including this “foreign hand” crap.
Every individual Pakistani must realize that by holding on to an extreme view of Islam, India-Pakistan-America-Israel-Taliban; he is doing harm to no one but himself.
Every Pakistani must engage himself in productive economic activity ; when millions of Pakistani’s have the same spirit, the entire country shall be lifted up to glory.

My point is mr Hussain was going on about a free media and how a good thing it is but a free media should be a responsible media.
As our political class have been infiltrated by self interest elements the media i fear is also infiltrated . You have GEO news who always push the anti pakistan stance any news which puts Pakistan in negative light true or false is given top billing . The alleged girl being whipped by Taliban in Swat was false yet the damage was done.
GEO and ARY every evening have a 2-3 minute segment on Altaf Hussain and refer to him as the MQM QAID . Lets be clear Altaf is a fugitive a wanted criminal so why do they give him so much importance , A free media should be neutral and not a mouthpiece of any given political party.
I am a Pakistani patriot and a FREE MEDIA is a good thing for our country BUT NO ONE HAS A RIGHT TO USE THAT PLATFORM TO PUSH ANTI-PAKISTAN VIEWS .

Death to Geo TV ….. A well known study shows that by showing suicides cases on TV the suicide rate goes up 10 fold. the west has the highest suicide rate in the world after japan .. wonder why it is not promoted on the media the way Geo TV does it.

Let Geo TV do what it is doing. You try to start a channel which shows all the good parts about Pakistan, and then let people judge who is better. Forget about Death to GeoTV etc; you show yourself in a poor light.
Salaam. Well done Ahmed Bhai. The interview conducted with Mr Mushahid Hussain was very good, thought provoking and enlightening, especially coming from a gentleman who is not of the ‘corrupt bunch’. Please keep up the good work and, believe you me in testing times like this, people ARE sitting up and taking notice of the core issues that pertain to Pakistan’s national interest & security. As a Pakistani who lives, breathes & dies 4 Pakistan i’m glad we have guys like you who are trying their damndest to propagate the truth. By way of suggestion, please try to invite (r) General Hamid Gul on the show. He is a brave and true Pakistani soldier who loves his country like all of us and i’m sure the programme can be used to educate the masses, especially the youth of our country. Please try to arrange an intrview with Imran Khan. If you agree and he gives his availability then please ask him about his vision for Pakistan in respect of Foreign policy, Education, Economic and legal reforms.
I noticed from his interviews that let alone America he does not even look towards China for help, although he says China is our good friend, unlike every other politician.
I have no comments regarding this interview and would like you to have real intellectuals in your show to use your time in a better way. Please keep up the good work and Inshallah Pakistan will bounce back and people like yourself will play an important role to take this country out of this mess if Allah willing.

Audio is really bad…
There was a problem with the footage of one of the cameras, you can minor blips in the sound whenever Mushahid Hussain is on the screen. We’ve fired the crew and are putting together a brand new team in place for future recordings. Meanwhile we’ll have to make do with this footage – its a bit annoying but not too difficult to make out what Mushahid Hussain is saying. Still – apologies and we’ll have these issues fixed in future episodes of the show inshaAllah

I am surprised to see Imran Khan and Jamat e Islami being accused of using swat situation to score political goals. On one hand both Mushaid and AQ agree that we have a political system unable to create leaders and therefore needs to be changed. In addition, also blame the current situation on the foreign policy that is and has been clearly biased towards the USA. On the other hand, blame the only two political parties standing up to both the current government and its western allies, of having ulterior motives.
They also agree that Pakistan Media is free of holy cow. However, IMO, the reason PTI and JI getting less than favored coverage is that Army can not be criticized. If that is not the case, I would like to see Imran Khan/Syed M. Hassan in one of the following episode. I have seen both Imran Khan & S.M. Hassan reasonably explaining their stand on swat operation. The simple question is how did the militants succeeded in their nefarious plan in the first place?
Criticizing the swat operation does not mean that one is condoning the beheading of pak civilians or military personnel, or forcing sharia on populace by criminally insane group of people. This also does not mean that one does not salute Pak Army men valiantly carrying out their duties in swat.
The criticism is about not giving enough times to diplomacy and dialog. The criticism is about not fully realizing the consequences. The criticism is about not planning for proper evacuation, food and shelter for the potential migration of millions of people. For god sake, if America and India have applauded this operation, how could that be in our national interest?
Those who support the operation tell me, if Waziritsan, Lal Masjid, Baluchistan operations achieved their goals?

hey.. siyal hold on… i know Mr Mushahid Hussain personally and its a KNOWN fact that he is NOT the ‘tout’ of anyone and he had many disagreements with President Musharraf, during the latters tenure in power. Not only that but he was very vocal too. he is a very intelligent man and is known for speaking the truth. i wish you knew him the way i do, the guy is a legend!
just a word of advice: not ALL politicians are bad, the fact is that in Pakistan MOST of them are.
