Grow up and own up. Otherwise instead of finding a cure for the problem, you end up running after ghosts!! All that we should be concerned with is to protect our country Pakistan, this is the country which we were all born in, so can we for once , or at last the youth of Pakistan excel in sports and education and martial arts, and let the whole world know that we are Good and Honest Muslims who love our country, and we do not like it one bit, when we have to face invaders.

He clearly says it is in response to drone attacks and to punish Pakistan’s govt. alleged complicity in it. That does not sound like a foreign controlled agent to me, Sir.

Mr Zaid starts by claiming that Mullah Omar expelled Dadullah and Baitullah because they started engaging in terrorism and were following takfeeri salafi ideology which declared war against Pakisan and it’s people. Then he says Afghan Taliban (under Omar)invited Uzbeks to come to Afghanistan and that these Uzbeks are deadly against Pakisan???!!! Then he claims Taliban are only concerned with liberating Afghanistan (which Talibaan? Pakistani or Afghan?? Which group, it is not clear, is against Pakistan and friendly to Pakisan? He seems to be rambling on and on and not making any sense. Did any body understand what he is trying to say, or is it me?!!
If Aghan Talibaan are friendly to Pakisatn then how come we caught quiet a few of them in Pakistan engaging in terrorism? Are the Talibaan or Swat and FATA friendly to Pakistan or against it? What is going on??

Afghan Taliban: As the name suggests, the original Taliban headed by Mullah Omar in Afghanistan who are fighting the US and NATO to free Afghanistan from American Occupation.

Pakistani Taliban or Fake/American Taliban or TTP: have emerged in the last couple of years as a group funded and trained by the Indian military and intelligence services based in Indian Embassies in Afghanistan. They’re headed by Baitullah Mehsud and interestingly enough, they have never been interested in fighting the Americans in Afghanistan and have never been a target for the Americans either.
FACT: Mullah Omar (of Afghanistan) has repeatedly distanced himself from Baitullah Mehsud’s group, saying that Baitullah has nothing to do with us and does not represent us. ‘us’ meaning the original, afghan taliban.
FACT: Baitullah Mehsud’s men do NOT fight US & NATO forces in Afghanistan and exclusively strike targets inside Pakistan, including civilians, Pakistan Army, Intelligence services.
FACT: The only foreign nationals Baitullah’s men have kidnapped or murdererd are from countries with whom Pakistan has excellent strategic relations, such as China. Not americans or brits or other westerners, but CHINESE.
FACT: Mullah Omar AGAIN called on Baitullah Mehsud and other so called ‘Pakistani Taliban’ to STOP fighting Pakistani forces and instead join them in the Jihad in Afghanistan. This is from less than two months ago.
FACT: New York Times reported earlier this year that the first attack under Obama’s presidency, which targeted a camp allegedly run by Baitullah’s group, was the FIRST TIME that the Americans had targeted Baitullah Mehsud’s group.
FACT: Pakistani Army Officers, again reported in the New York Times, have repeatedly complained that the Americans aren’t interested in killing Baitullah Mehsud and in fact have provided him cover by carrying out surveillance of Pakistani troop movements and advising him. The recent steps taken against his group (including 2 airstrikes and setting a price on his head) are just hogwash.
I’ll leave you to connect the dots. Use google or go through our previous articles to verify any of the above FACTS as they have all been reported by the main stream media at one time or the other.

Doing it for money does not makes sense, as he could be taken out any time. He is doing it because he genuinely feels he is on the right path and ready to die for it as a Shaheed. He and his henchmen in Swat want to establish Sharia (again, ideology). He seems to be doing it because he wants to avenge Lal Masjid and drone attacks in FATA which he believes are being carried out with Pakisan’s complicity. I think the whole issue is not simply one that can be painted in terms of black and white. There are shades of grey in between. His logic for accepting outside help could be the same as the one employed by Mullah Omar during the Afghan Jihad.
He also seems to have support from Afghan Talibaan as they caught one recently during Lahore attack and others in Afghanistan. So, to say there are two Talibaan groups at odd with each other…????

Another point: If Pakistani Talibaan are not crossing the border into Afghanistan to fight the US, then what is the US complaining about Pakistan being a safe haven to fighters crossing the border hitting Afghan and US forces and sneaking back???
Mubashir – you’re right in saying that it isn’t all black & white. Its a murky world in that region where loyalties are bought and sold and the infiltration of foreign covert operatives is higher than it was when the soviets invaded Afghanistan.
Perhaps I should’ve made it clearer – When I say ‘Afghan’ or ‘Pakistani’ Taliban, it doesn’t mean that the nationalities of their operatives are limited to what their respective prefixes are.
The US has exclusively targeted Afghan Taliban and their alleged accomplices on the Pakistani side of the border – of which the Pakistani Taleban (Mehsud’s TTP) are NOT a part of.
Even the US drone strikes carefully avoid areas under the influence of the TTP.
Apart from Mullah Omar, there’s the Haqqani group and Hekmatyar’s men as well as other warlords (some of whom may well be Pakistani) who support the Afghan taliban and actively participate in the fight against US and NATO forces in Afghanistan.
None of the above mentioned gents have anything to do with Baitullah’s TTP.
Infact Baitullah’s TTP has often fought AGAINST them and recently even threatened the leaders of Mujahideen groups fighting against the Americans in Afghanistan and Indians in Kashmir – asking them to join TTP’s war against Pakistan or face death. All of this has been posted on our site in the past and is available from other news sources if you search on google.
Now, just as the original taliban have some Pakistani nationals in their ranks, Baitullah’s TTP has afghans in theirs. TTP receives funding, weapons and support exclusively from Afghanistan. A number of Pakistani prominent personalities particularly the NWFP governor as well as Musharraf recently have pointed this out to the americans. Its not PAkistan exporting terror to Afghanistan, its the other way round.
Talking about motives, as I said its not black and white and who knows what works for Baitullah. However his group strictly follows the takfiri ideology whereby they do not even consider pakistanis as muslims and regard their murder as legitimate. Its an extremely dangerous ideology but one that appeals to the uneducated – where they are brainwashed by showing them images of Pakistan army’s action against their own kind, whether in Lal mosque or day before yesterday in Lahore, and convince them to wage a war against pakistani ‘infidels’ who support the army.

I tend to agree with the theory that the man believes in whatever theology he follows and is ready to do kill and die for it; He is also ready to accept help in this connection from where ever he can without any hesitation. In this respect, he can and may have been used by other countries.

If this is true, US/India/Israel are training a bunch of Taliban to attack Pakistan?? How would that work for the US? If Pakistan fails, who do they think will it’s nuclear assets end up with? Baitullah Mehsud has become the symbol of terrorism in Pakistan and Pakistan must get him soon to thwart this terror wave. He is the beacon of terrorism in Pakistan and was most probably involved in Benazir’s murder. He is being supported by India in his deadly mission to kill as many Muslims as possible while protecting Al-Qaida with the help of Indian station master based in Jalabad & Kandahar.

Basically the local talibans are brainchild of RAW after they decided to squelch the kashmiri resistence once for all, through a long-drawn collaboration between RAW-Mossad-CIA-Khaad(&NDS). They have taken the advantage of the chinese declaration that they will be militarily silent till 2030 (under normal border conditions). Pakistan did not do its homework. Their leaders kept on earning and pocketing dollars relentlessly at the expense of poor nation.
I believe that:
1. Pakistanis should define the parameters of an islamic welfare state and make an implementation plan;
2. Ulemas should be asked to come up with a unanimous way-forward redressing problems of the poor at all levels;
3. Media should take steps to drill home the islamic ideology in the true sense;
4. Proper security measures should be taken, vis a vis registration rechecking, dubious people living in various localities, old 5th columnists making inroads in pakistani administration;
5. Corruption should be curbed with all possible methods;
6. ISI, MI, IB, NAB, FIA and police should have a common road-map and should muster local support through influential honest elders and willing society figures;
7. There should be a proper method of conveying instructions and a follow-up of implementation in order to counter the menace of suicide bombers;
8. All tv channels should give sufficient space to ulema and intellectuals to assist the government;
9. All corrupt elements and nincompoops should be removed from important government and other offices even if they are elected;
10. Smuggling should be properly guarded against by Rangers and other entities meant for the purpose.
As has been discussed and opined by Zaid Sahib, Afghan Taliban should be befriended and asked to raise themselves to oust the Karzai government in a way through polls and join the stakeholders so that NATO and other foreign malignancies are surgically removed from Afghanistan. In addition, Kashmiris should also be advised to raise their level of negotiations (may be with the help of friendly european countries) so that Indians start coming out of the clutches of Mossad.
Pakistanis have to think like a nation, not like a herd following stooges and buffoons.

It’s pointless (and dishonest) to blame people like Maulana Sufi, Fazlullah, Baitullah or Osama for the violence & terror that is killing our children. For years we have been promoting and condoning the use of violence and terror to achieve our “national interest” and “strategic depth”, and all this is done in the name of Islam & Jihad. Now the monster which we so lovingly created and nurtured to spread destruction, bloodshed, misery and hate amongst the kafir has decided that we, it’s erstwhile masters, are kafir too. It is the height of denial and self-delusion for us to try to disown them now.
What kind of immoral, perverted logic is it that allows us to celebrate and praise someone as a hero and freedom fighter for Jihad fisabil Allah when he kills someone else’s children only to call him a terrorist when he kills ours? What is this depraved creed that we follow which teaches us that we can do evil in the name of good, and not be defiled by it?
We have been indulging in this moral schizophrenia for so long that we can no longer tell right from wrong. The result is corruption and decay: our Nation dismembered, our infrastructure crumbling (unless you live in Defence Colony), our education a joke, our democratic institutions dysfunctional, our children (those too poor to escape overseas) look forward to either being a perpetrator or victim of suicide bombing.
But all that aside, the most grievous consequence is the effect on our Nation’s soul. Our moral blindness infects our hearts and our children’s too; it replaces the teachings of Allah with hate, unreason & beastliness; gone are mercy, forgiveness, love and peace. Eventually, we lose our humanity and become twisted, hateful monsters ourselves, living short, brutish and nasty lives, just like in the time of Jahilia.
Am I being unfair in assigning responsibility to us, the people of Pakistan, instead of our leaders? No, I am not. People everywhere get the government that they deserve, and so did we. May Allah help us find our moral compass again.
