This is a great movie and deserves all the attention it is getting. You see, the Indian government is spending millions of U.S. dollars – remember the ‘Incredible India’ campaign on CNN? – to hide exactly what this film reveals. The British director and the Indian novelist are amazing. But so are the unvarnished truths about India that come to the fore for the first time through this film.

I am a Girl from germany and I tavelled through India for more than two months – alone!
It was the most wonderful trip I ever had and people were always friendly and nice. I did not have a single dangerous situation there, though I travelled during the night in busses, trains, etc.
So stop telling lies about India.

Indians do not say that India is perfect. No country is perfect. Don’t know where you got that from. Maybe you have been conditioned or brainwashed to believe that. India has its problems. It has its good points too.
Here is a rebuttal to your post:
1) Where did you get the “half” of tourists coming
to India are being looted or raped statement
from? If so, India would no longer be a favored
tourist destination. Also, do compare the stats
for the tourism industry in India and Pakistan.
See what that tells you.
2) India is more poor than Pakistan? Well well, you
either live on Mars or have been brainwashed so
much that you can ignore all facts or are acting
like a frustrated kid throwing a tantrum. By any
economic indicators, Pakistan is decades behind
India in any field. Try looking at facts.
The only thing that you were right about was the population. We do have overpopulation and we are trying to deal with it. By the way, it would be better for Pakistan also if you stop dissing India at every opportunity with inaccurate or laughable allegations. You guys do not have a functioning economy, are already being labeled a failed state and have a host of other problems. Try dealing with those and let us deal with our problems.

We never said we are FAR-AHEAD than India because we are a much smaller country than India which is why we have less poverty than India!
Read “GULF NEWS” U.A.E’s leading newspaper. It stated if anyone read the tourist guest book in India would be shocked as most tourists write ‘we regret it!’ They even stated even though special jails have been made for tourists but it’s of no use! As for rape I don’t need to state every incident that takes place in Goa or even the new year party molestation that happened with two foreigners!
In case you watch “The amazing race” when they came to India one of the team with women had to travel through train were crying and saying about the men in the train “He’s touching my boobs” and someone was touching there butts. The pervs couldn’t even control themselves in front of camera!

Yes India is poor. But that slum that you see in the movie with all the dirt strewn around gets a better rate per square feet for the shantis than Karachis Clifton area.

Dear Indian and Pakistani friends
Before posting about how each other’s country is closer to a living hell, do you care to think what kind of impression it will create about both countries in the minds of readers from outside the sub-continent? Already there’s no Cricket blog on which Indian and Pakistanis are not at each others’ throats…
So let me lay it out for all of you… Both India and Pakistan are still what the whold world calls the third-world… Yes, India has made some advances in a few areas like IT and Education, but it is a looooooong way before it can claim to be anywhere close to a developed economy… On the other hand, Pakistan may have a higher per capita income by virtue of its smaller population, but its performance on most human development indicators such as literacy, healthcare etc is equally bad as India, if not worse…
So I suggest we should all get off our high horses and think about how we can make a meaningful contribution to the improvement of our own societies and economies, rather than vent our frustration on an anonymous blog like this…

The problem is, India as a country and it’s people can afford these games with Pakistan because it has many industries and a huge economy. Pakistan meanwhile, does not have nearly the luxury.

i have been to mumbai,new york, london, dubai, delhi, etc. there are -ves of every place.
but nonetheless slums being 30%of mumbai, the rest 70%is far better and posh than any other city.
avg. income in mumbai is rs.31000 per month.
is there any comparison with karachi or lahore?
