Indian Response to PKKH Report on Kasab’s Death

January 31, 2009

In response to PakistanKaKhudaHafiz (PKKH)’s exclusive report about Kassab’s death, the Maharashtra government on Friday said the lone terrorist arrested in 26/11 Mumbai attacks is very much alive.

“Kassab is in Mumbai police custody and very much alive,” state Home Minister Jayant Patil said. [Rediff]

In addition to the Home Minister, the Mumbai Police Commissioner also denied the reports of Kassab’s death.

“Kassab is safe in our custody,” Police Commissioner Hasan Gafoor told PTI.

PKKH understands that Mumbai Police had originally intended to announce his death this week – in a supposed ’shootout’ at the Arthur road jail – pinning the blame on ‘Pakistan-controlled gangsters’ with links to Dawood Ibrahim.

Karzai About To Be Sidelined

Aides Say Obama’s Afghan Aims Elevate War

WASHINGTON — President Obama intends to adopt a tougher line toward Hamid Karzai, the Afghan president, as part of a new American approach to Afghanistan that will put more emphasis on waging war than on development, senior administration officials said Tuesday.

Mr. Karzai is now seen as a potential impediment to American goals in Afghanistan, the officials said, because corruption has become rampant in his government, contributing to a flourishing drug trade and the resurgence of the Taliban.

Legality and US War Crimes

January 28, 2009

42-20424749

Obama’s order to close Guantanamo Prison means very little. Essentially, Obama’s order is a public relations event. The tribunal process had already been shut down by US courts and by military lawyers, who refused to prosecute the fabricated cases. The vast majority of the prisoners were hapless individuals captured by Afghan warlords and sold for money to the stupid Americans as “terrorists.” Most of the prisoners, people the Bush regime told us were “the most dangerous people alive,” have already been released. Obama’s order said nothing about closing the CIA’s secret prisons or halting the illegal practice of rendition in which the CIA kidnaps people and sends them to third world countries, such as Egypt, to be tortured.

End The US Romance Before It Destroys Us

January 28, 2009

42-20910182Two drones fired on the same day soon after Obama’s swearing in have made the new US administration’s intentions towards Pakistan clear – there will be no respect for international law in this part of the world. This is the historic duality (recall the Monroe Doctrine) that prevails in the very foundations of the much-touted US values! So it is time for our leaders to accept certain ground realities and shape their policies accordingly.

Accept that Obama has nothing positive to offer Pakistan. On the contrary, following the drone attacks, he moved to name Holbrooke as Special Envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan, and to cut off a major chunk of money owed to Pakistan for military services rendered. And what has our reaction been? Without looking at Holbrooke’s record, we have welcomed his appointment, and in response to the cutting of money owed, we have declared that we will appeal to them again–as if this is part of a bargain hunt or a sale! Is this what a nuclear sovereign state does?

The India Lobby

January 28, 2009

Drunk with the Sight of Power

On January 27, 2009, a newly formed task force of Indian American organizations is set to overrun Capitol Hill. The Indian American Task Force will take their message to Congress and to the new administration, asking them to be much tougher on Pakistan. The impetus for this new combine and its lobbying is the Mumbai attacks of December 2008. But this is not just about justice for the victims of Mumbai.

There is another dynamic involved, which is to walk the Jewish American road, to create a “India Lobby” that resembles the “Israel Lobby.” The investment among these Indian Americans is to follow the remarkable success of the Israel Lobby, which has been able to leverage its relatively small numbers (7 million, only 2.5% of the U. S. population) into considerable political power. An even more impressive story is that of the Cuban Americans (1.6 million; 0.5% of the U. S. population), but these Indian Americans are less enthused by them. After the Bay of Pigs and a few isolated terrorist acts, the Cubans have been rather unimpressive, the Embargo notwithstanding. The Jewish American dominated Israel Lobby, on the other hand, has made the United States into “Israel’s attorney” (according to former U. S. State Department official Aaron David Miller). This is what impresses the new Indian American Task Force.

Pakistan has advantage over India

January 27, 2009

Delhi’s hot air proved doubly insipid. It did not frighten Pakistan one bit, but it scared the wits out of Washington and London, who rushed to Delhi and leaned on it. Delhi succumbed. India has lost twice over through Mumbai. It has become a laughing stock at security conferences. And it has allowed what could have been a diplomatic coup against Pakistan to become a diplomatic coup against India. This is incompetent governance, not just abysmal security.

British Foreign Secretary David Miliband was audacious enough to contradict India’s prime minister on Indian soil, by saying that the terrorist attack was not sponsored by the Pakistan government, and that India had better do something about the core cause, Kashmir. Instead of snubbing him, Rahul Gandhi, Congress’ proxy prime minister, took Miliband for some private tourism of poverty. British correspondents in Delhi have applauded Miliband for telling it like it is, throwing in a sentence that this is going to be Obama’s line as well.

Please take them Off Air

January 27, 2009

Like a child having a tantrum and an adult with disturbed childhood, the Indian media has been coming up with so much ‘twisty tales’ about Pakistan without any evidence (but their sources). And the irony is that there is no criticism coming up. The Pakistani media’s stance is no different from the stance of its people. We have witnessed so many times, when people in Pakistan criticized their media for exaggeration and the useless panicky stuff but one must have to confess in this instance that Pakistani media has shown some restraint and acted sensibly contrasting the Indian media that has come up with the most idiotic stories and the usual melodrama that one would have had a chance to watch.

Ajmal Kassab: Dead

January 27, 2009

PakistanKaKhudaHafiz Exclusive

The lone captured terrorist and alleged Pakistani citizen Ajmal Kassab is dead, sources tell PKKH. Whether he was killed in custody immediately after the Mumbai attacks or in recent days is yet to be confirmed.

On Monday 19th January, Kassab was remanded in police custody until February 2nd. It is important to note that he was not brought to court on this occasion.

Earlier, police in Mumbai had backed off of plans to produce Kasab in court on Thursday December 11th for a routine hearing, citing security concerns.

Indian authorities have repeatedly denied media access to Ajmal Kassab and have turned down requests from the Pakistani authorities for a DNA sample for Kassab. This is consistent with the inability of the Indian authorities to provide any information (finger prints, DNA) of the other nine alleged perpetrators of the Mumbai Attacks.

Due to the nature of this information and the lack of verifiable sources, we are not able to confirm or dismiss the reports of Kassab’s death at the moment. However, India’s reluctance to allow the Pakistani authorities access to Kassab and refusal to carry out a joint investigation certainly raises questions about the authenticity of Indian claims.

On a separate note, the leading Dutch daily newspaper ‘De Telegraaf’ reports that the Indian authorities will be investigating the role of right-wing politicians in Mumbai massacre. It also reports that Ajmal Kassab was already under arrest at the time of the Mumbai attacks, for an unrelated crime. Below is a rough translation from the article in ‘De Telegraaf’:

“There are indications that Indian politicians and Hindu extremists are behind the attacks in Mumbai last November. It is thought that statesmen of Maharashtra wanted to get rid of the head of the anti-terrorism bureau, Hermant Karkare, whilst putting the blame on Pakistan as reported by Radiance, a weekly magazine. Hemant Karkare was one of the 163 victims killed during the attacks. Karkare was investigating the hindu terrorist group Hindutva suspected to be planning an attack and had received death threats. An independent investigation is underway to find the politicians who demanded Karkare’s resignation and which of them has provided financial means for the attacks. Remarkably, the only gunman who was captured alive, a Pakistani, was already serving a sentence in jail for another crime.”

Noida Encounter: India’s latest drama fails?

January 27, 2009

terror1_1246152c

Indian and International Newspapers ran the headline ‘Pakistan Terrorists Shot Dead in Delhi’ on January 25th.

Police in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, just ten miles outside the capital, claimed to have intercepted the two suspects in a car following a tip off. A spokesman said the suspects refused to stop and opened fire, leading to the gun fight in which the two suspected militants were shot dead. They apparently ‘confessed’ to being Pakistani in their dying moments, and were also carrying their Pakistani passports, we’re told.

What a f**king joke.

Here’s a report in today’s Times of India questioning the loopholes in the official story.

Meanwhile also have a look at a list of some notable fake encounters carried out by Indian security forces in recent times, courtesy of Google.

Lawyers’ Iftikhar: A Messiah Or A Pawn?

January 27, 2009

Chaudhry Iftikhar, the former chief justice, was used and thrown away when the PPP needed the NRO. Nawaz Sharif used him against Musharraf and forgot him later. Now all the enemies of President Zardari have suddenly remembered Iftikhar Chaudhry, the perpetual fall guy. But I am more stunned at some Pakistanis who think they’ll have free judiciary if Mr. Iftikhar is ‘restored’. Well, fat chance. Here’s why.

SPECIAL REPORT: US Grand Designs on Pakistan

January 26, 2009

42-20577708

“Those whose faith only increased when people said, ‘Fear your enemy: they have amassed a great army against you,’ and who replied, ‘Allah is enough for us: He is the best protector.” Al-Imran, 3:173

Introduction
Pakistan since its inception has faced one crisis after another. It has continued to stumble from one problem to another due to never having a leadership with the capability or the will to tackle Pakistan’s problems head on. Today, Pakistan faces a situation which is unprecedented in its history. From some perspectives Pakistan’s inability to deal holistically with its problems has compounded its current woes. US plans for Pakistan are fast reaching boiling point, with the Mumbai attacks accelerating attempts by the US to weaken Pakistan.

What should be clear is that Pakistan is in no position to shape the geopolitics taking place in front of its very eyes. India is playing a very prominent role with the US in order to shape what happens to Pakistan. Both India and the US have successfully created international public opinion against Pakistan for having so called ‘rogue elements’ within its security services that say are a menace to the world due to their support for Jihadi groups. Such claims are eerily similar to the case the US built against Iraq and should confirm to every Muslim that we are in the early phase of the world gathering against another Muslim nation. The question remains that is Pakistan fast descending into the next Iraq? This paper attempts to analyse US historical interests in south Asia, the problem Pakistan represents for the US and what options remain open for Pakistan.

Confusion In Islamabad

January 26, 2009

42-21458266

Can Politicians & Military Handle The Mess?

There are conflicting signals about what is happening inside the Zardari government, and mixed signals on U.S. and India. Pakistani experts are now convinced that India’s ‘evidence’ regarding Mumbai is not watertight. But a pro-U.S. core within the Pakistani government is preventing Islamabad from talking openly about it. The Pakistani media and political class remain confused about priorities, discussing nonissues such as the marks of a daughter of a senior judge and political backstabbing when the country faces a gathering storm on its international borders. The debate within military circles is substantive. But the military won’t interfere.

Malegaon: The Israeli Connection

January 26, 2009

It is grim reading how Lt Col Srikant Purohit and others wanted to establish a Hindu Rashtra with the help of Israel. The RSS and Jan Sangh did not whole heartedly join the national juggernaut that Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had started for the foundation of a democratic liberal state of India in which all could live. The same could be said of the neighbouring Pakistan whose founder Jinnah had created his country for all the people irrespective of their religion but this was systematically undermined and then President Ziaul Haq hijacked it in the name of Sharia.

The grudge Purohit and his ilk was that the British did not leave India as a Hindu Rashtra while they took Pakistan as a theocratic state based on Islam. The only state established on theocracy was, of course, Israel. The recent Gaza incursion of the Israeli army is the most recent and vivid murderous effort in the long history of establishing a theocratic state of Israel. Its birth in 1948 was catastrophic for the native Palestinians of the erstwhile Palestine. Such a visualized state has been the cherished dream of the right wing groups of the RSS and its offshoots who have never been content with the democratic, secular republic of India.

CIA plans to split India by 2015

January 26, 2009

Midday, India

MUMBAI: CIA plans to split India by 2015 – Reveals a serving Indian army officer, who is one of the 452 witnesses in the September 29 Malegaon blast case

In a shocking revelation, an army officer, one of the 452 witnesses in the September 29 Malegaon blast case, has revealed in his statement that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had a grand design to split India into smaller independent countries by 2015.

According the statement, the officer had attended one of the meetings held by the Malegaon blast accused on April 12, 2008 at the Ram temple in Bhopal. The officer from the Army Education Corps said that he was shocked by the proceedings.

He added that an ex-Raw personnel, who was present in the meeting, divulged these sinister plans of splitting the nation, based on a similar operation in the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics).

The witness added that the ex-Raw official also revealed that the CIA had managed to penetrate several departments in India. The officer cautioned the witness that the meeting was being observed by the Intelligence Bureau.

Sinister plans

The officer met Lt Col Shrikant Purohit in an official dinner at the Officers’ Mess of AEC training college and centre in the second week of December 2007 at Deolali. He told Purohit about a plan to take premature retirement to develop his village, and establish an old age home.

On January 26, 2008, Purohit asked him to come to Faridabad and meet a few people for his project. There he was introduced to Sameer Kulkarni and the other accused in the Malegaon blast case. Then on April 12, 2008, Purohit called him for a meeting at Ram Mandir. He met all the Malegaon accused and another 20 people, along with the ex-Raw officer and the IB source.

The former RAW officer spoke about the USSR and Purohit spoke about his plans to bring Abhinav Bharat to the fore. Purohit also spoke about Hindu fundamentals and his contacts in Israel and Thailand.

Obama War Crimes in Pakistan

January 26, 2009

imagesBefore going to bed last night the news wires were smoking with official calls from Pakistan officials that the United States and Barack Obama immediately cease its air strikes into Pakistan. Pakistan officials clearly instruct Obama that it will not tolerate the murder of civilians as occurred Friday in the US Air Strikes into the sovereign Nation Pakistan.

I take this time to urge any and all US Military personnel to refrain from implementing any directives issued from the Obama White House until such time as Barack Obama has demonstrated that he is legally entitled to hold the office of POTUS.

I urge Pakistan and any other Country that has civilian deaths as the result of any Obama order to immediately issue a warrant for the arrest and extradition of Barack Obama to that country to face charges of MURDER in light of the fact that Barack Obama is not a legally sitting President of the United States. Pakistan officials have every legal and moral obligation to demand the arrest and extradition of Barack Obama at this time.

Shaheed Hemant Karkare Road, Malegaon

January 26, 2009

The residents of Malegaon have urged the government of Maharashtra to name the road on which the September 29 blast took place as ‘Shaheed Hemant Karkare Road’ after former Anti-Terrorism Squad chief Hemant Karkare, who was killed in the November 26 Mumbai terror attack.

As chief of Maharashtra ATS, Karkare was probing the 2008 blast where a bomb planted in a motorcycle left outside Abdul Ansari’s office killed six persons on September 29. Residents of this bereaved town, 285 km northeast of Mumbai, are now pushing for the 500-metre stretch to be named after Karkare. Karkare’s killing is said to be a targeted assassination meant to stifle the uncomfortable revelations of the blast probe that echoes across a cross-section of over four lakh Muslims who make up 70 per cent of the residents of this textile town.

Magazine endorses Antulay’s stance on Karkare

ISLAMABAD, Jan 21: India’s Minority Affairs Minister A.R. Antulay, who has been criticised by the right-wing Hindu leaders for seeking an inquiry into the murder of Anti-Terrorist Squad chief Hemant Karkare, has won endorsement for his stance, says a report.

The New Delhi-based Radiance weekly said in its editorial “Antulay is right: Investigate Karkare’s murder” that “most of the TV channels played on sentiments and are not concerned with truth.”

The Rise of the Hindu ‘Taliban’

January 26, 2009

Goons of a right wing Hindu outfit Sri Ram Sena in Mangalore barged into a pub and beat up women over the weekend – in its latest round of moral policing.

This is not the first time the Shri Ram Sena has acted as the self appointed moral police in Karnataka.

The first time the Shri Ram Sena was heard of was when they had attacked an M F Husain exhibition at Sahmat on the August 24, 2008. They had vandalised the whole exhibition and left behind sheets of paper claiming to be the protector of Hindu values.

Like father, like son: Astonishing history of Bush family!

January 26, 2009

Part 1/2

The archival evidence is now clear that Prescott Bush, the president’s grandfather, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from and collaborated with key financial backers of Nazi Germany.

That business relationship continued after Hitler invaded Poland in 1939 and even after Germany declared war on the United States following Japan’s bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941. It stopped only when the U.S. government seized assets of Bush-connected companies in late 1942 under the “Trading with the Enemy Act.”

Wondering why war monger son of war mongering fore-fathers restarted half complete job of his daddy?

Read full article | Robert Parry | Al Jazeera

Part 2/2

To fully understand the present manifestation of the Bush family and its excesses, one must consider its history over several generations, a difficult and painful undertaking since it reveals so much about the self-destructive apathy of the American people.

Prescott Bush’s business and personal connections were to have a profound impact on the course of American history. Many of his wealthy friends bankrolled his son, George Herbert Walker Bush, in launching his first oil business in Texas – and then a political career that would take the Bush family to the White House.

Indian Soliders Killing Themselves

January 25, 2009

DWF15-457152

A member of an elite Indian army unit has shot dead six other soldiers in a shooting incident in the north-eastern state of Manipur, the army says.

The soldier from the Assam Rifles elite paramilitary force shot a comrade dead after an argument, a spokesman said.
He said the killer then shot dead five other soldiers who tried to disarm him, before fleeing the scene.

It seems more Indian Army soldiers commit suicide (or kill each other) than die in battle.

Since 2004: 392 Indian soldiers have been killed in militant attacks.
Since 2004: 652 Indian Army Soldiers have either committed suicide or have been killed by their colleagues.
Out of these 652, 521 committed suicide.

These numbers have gone up from around 40 a year in the late 90s and early 00s to nearly 150 in recent years.

DWF15-414956Psychology lessons as well as Music therapy has apparently failed to stop Indian Soldiers killing themselves and their colleauges. To be honest we can’t really blame them if it is Himesh Reshamiyya being blared on massive speakers – used as therapy.

Some analysts say the incidents reflect battle fatigue amongst the soldiers fighting Kashmiri Mujahideen as they continue to face humiliating losses on a daily basis.

There is also concern over what is seen as indiscipline and alcohol abuse among members of the security agencies which have been given extraordinary powers to tackle militancy.

India’s defence ministry ordered an inquiry into such incidents years ago but its findings have not been made public.

Meanwhile a quick search on google came up with the following news reports:

“Two days later, the wounds were much bigger, reaching down as far as the bone and exposing the tendons. We had doctors here from Egypt who had experience of war and they said this was definitely caused by white phosphorus.”

Israeli reports said the shelling took place in northern Gaza, but The Daily Telegraph photographed three pale green phosphorus shells in Gaza City.

Oil, Obama, and Pakistan

January 22, 2009

01c97cdb

America’s military policy is following its foreign policy which follows the smell of oil. Forget freedom and democracy. That’s for fools. Pakistanis are fooling themselves if they think President Obama will be able to change this. Let’s pray he does. The Karachi-Torkham-Afghanistan supply route and the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan pipeline means that U.S. will have to take effective control of Balochistan, Gwadar and Karachi. This will also help deny Iran and China any stake in their own pipelines across Pakistan. America can’t do this by going to war with a strong Pakistani military. Destabilization is part of the plan, with some margin for unintended consequences. Now you understand the game.
